Every day at least one song - Week # 73 (August 3, 2026)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. Now in its second year I shall continue to post at least one song every day, old and new and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!

Monday, August 03, 2026:

Last week I gave you Eskorbuto from the Basque Country, on this rainy and fresh Monday morning I give you Shock from Bilbao, well there is an Umlaut missing over the “o”. The band is currently on a European tour, so get your lazy ass to their shows as true DIY punk needs your support. Really not much else to say, back to work it is…Happy Monday!

Tuesday, August 4, 2026:

Last night I watched “A Man called Otto” and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I mean for one Tom Hanks is a good actor, and the movie takes you on an emotional rollercoaster with lots of laughs but also times where it will make you melancholic and sad. I say watch it, as you could do more stupid stuff like being stuck on this website listening to some garbage punk rock. Carbonas hailed from Atlanta, Georgia in the early ‘00s and released several records. I found their last LP released on Goner Records back in ‘07 not too long ago in the bins at a local record shop, and it rips. Can’t go wrong with modern day ‘77 punk rock. Wednesday, August 5, 2026:

Social Media is silly, very silly indeed. Yesterday I read through yet another thread wherein people argued as to who was responsible for the start of punk rock. It really doesn’t matter what was said, what matters is that the whole punk rock explosion may have looked different if not for bands like the Stooges. On August 5 in 1969 their first LP was released, that was fifty-seven years ago. There is music that is timeless, and the Stooges are definitely part of that group. I hope you all had a great day!

Thursday, August 6, 2026:

Without going into any details, tonight was a bit of a disaster with having spent most of the evening on the phone trying to sort out a problem that should have never turned into a problem. But as the 4 Skins hit suggests, laws apply differently to depending on who you are. With us being at the bottom of the food chain and with big companies running amok one does feel increasingly helpless. Anyhow, I need some sleep now.

Friday, August 7, 2026:

Exciting news boys and gals, a new Killer Kin video/song was just uploaded to U-Tubee, now that makes my Friday already sweeter than expected, especially after that nightmare of last night. I have told you previously that these guys from Connecticut are the real deal, but America doesn’t seem to get it because they’ll be touring Europe yet again later this month. I suppose I’ll need to grab a copy of the upcoming 7”, and hope that they finally play somewhere near my house. Happy Friday!!

Saturday, August 8, 2026:

The world is on fire, and that is meant to be literally and factually. There are countless wars and fires raging over this planet and one can only ask themselves how much longer we can last. Good on Wasted from Finland for trying to make a difference and to take a stand, more bands and people need to do the same, that’s for sure. I’ll keep it short on this rainy and stormy Saturday morning, and hope everyone has a great day!

Sunday, August 9, 2026:

Last night I watched “The Secret Lives of Bill Bartell”, a truly intriguing documentary about a fascinating character, who was also known as Pat Fear. Was he really a cop in real life, probably. And even if he was, everyone has to make a living. Make sure you watch the movie for free here should you be based in the US and don’t subscribe to Night Flight. Of course I’ll blast a White Flag track today not just in memory of Bill, but also because they recorded some great and wild stuff. Happy Sunday!
