Every day at least one song - Week # 74 (August 10, 2026)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. Now in its second year I shall continue to post at least one song every day, old and new and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!
Monday, August 10, 2026:
Well, not too shabby for a Monday even though my bus driver was early in the morning and I had to rush to the other end of our road for a different bus to make it to work on time. Trisomie 21 were two brothers from the North of France who created some great Coldwave music in the ‘80s, such as “The Last Song”, an epic track in my opinion. But let’s be honest, the video I am posting is stealing the show. Filmed at a Club in San Diego during the Mid-80s it is a great glimpse at the different subcultures on a night out. Look at the Rockabilly dude who can’t figure out how to flap with his arms, the starved Deathrockers, the Disco queens and the list goes on. Watching this video always takes me back to the ‘80s, in many ways a magical time when life was simpler and definitely void of any worries. Hope you had a great one!
Tuesday, August 11, 2026:
Nineteen years ago today I boarded a van with most of my belongings and moved from Switzerland to London. Of course all those years back little did I know that eventually I’d end up living in the US, but from ‘07 to ‘12 I lived quite happily in the “Big Smoke”. Me leaving Switzerland also coincides with the birthday of my good buddy Alain in Zurich, who’s turning freakin’ sixty-eight years young tomorrow. There are so many unforgettable memories of us attending gigs throughout Switzerland, but just recently I thought about Libertine who hailed from New York City and rocked our socks off in Zurich and Basel around 2000. Well, I hope everyone had a great day!

Last night when I was looking through some old postings to see whether I had posted a certain song and while doing so I realized how many of the links to postings from Youtube are broken because those fuckers decided to remove them. At least for now this week will be the last one I shall be posting songs on a daily basis. I’ll work on replacing those missing links for those songs and have plenty planned for the website as it’s time for a ton of record reviews and interviews. I have posted a Colera song before, but that was over a year ago, and you just can’t go wrong with this classic Brazilian hardcore punk outfit. I hope you all had a great day!

If you are closed to retirement age here in Amerikkka you will naturally wonder where and how you will want to spend your well earned years away from work and daily stress. Do you want to stay in your house in the Midwest, or should you rather move to a warmer area with attractive ladies, well groomed gentlemen, beer and parties? And how about a trailer in the middle of the desert where temperatures reach over a 100 degrees on a daily basis? At least you won’t have to use the stove to make your eggs. Another work week’s over and the summer is slowly but surely also coming to an end. It’s not been a bad summer here so far as I can’t think of too many unbearable days. I hear it’s different in Europe with many countries suffering from sweltering heat. Triebtaeter hailed from the quiet city of Stuttgart in Southern Germany and played perfect aggressive Deutschpunk bordering on hardcore punk. They released just one LP in ‘84 and that was that. I certainly never get bored of it, and neither should you. Have a great Friday night!

It’s been a cloudy Saturday morning here and while my wife had to go to work, I got some time to watch Night Flight. Flipside is a great documentary that is kind of about a lot of things, but above all about the filmmaker Chris Wilcha taking stock of his own life and about the record store Flipside in New Jersey, where Chris once worked at when he was young. The movie is also about a world that is increasingly disappearing, a world where chaotic stores like Flipside have a place in. I thought it was fitting to blast one of my favorite bands from New Jersey from yesteryear, the Wretched Ones, with some cool footage from Newarks’s Pipeline back in the ‘90s. Have a great Saturday!

The week’s coming to an end, and so is “Every Day at least one Song”, at least for now. In the coming weeks and months I’ll be busy working on reviews and interviews, so hang in there as there will be lots coming your way. Last night I saw the Japanese punk movie “Burst City” for the first time. I was expecting something different, but it was a good laugh. Legendary The Stalin are part of the movie, so I thought it would be fitting to post a video of theirs. They are definitely one band I would have loved seeing in Japan during their prime.
