Every day at least one song - Week # 69 (July 6, 2026)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. Now in its second year I shall continue to post at least one song every day, old and new and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!

Well another Monday it is, and after a long weekend it’s even harder to get myself ready and motivated to make the trip to work. I don’t know anything about the Mainliners from sunny Los Angeles but they are certainly cut from the old school of Southern California punk rock, which is very much to my liking. Not sure whether tequila would help to get over the Monday blues, but might be worth a shot. Have a great day!

Just like other recent FIFA World Cups I have been ignoring this one as well and haven’t watched a single game so far. After having heard of the “Orange man” getting involved in the red card suspension reverse case though I was definitely not rooting for the U.S team to advance further, hence I am so happy Belgium showed them who’s boss. I remember getting the Zyklome A LP decades ago, in this instance I don’t recall where, or whether it was through a trade. All that matters is that I still have the LP, and should you not have a copy, make sure to get the reissue. It sure as hell is a European hardcore punk classic of the ‘80s, and with that I wish you a great day!

Seratones from Shreveport in Louisiana have been going for quite a number of years now, and the song I am posting today is off of their debut album from 2016. I think A.J.’s vocals are amazing and the rhythm section isn’t shabby either. I just listened to some of their newest songs and they are different and more loungy, this on the other hand rocks and makes for a great summer song. Just proves again that just about any genre these days produces some real talent, no matter where from. Happy middle of the week!

This week’s been kind of dragging along and every day I seem to think we’re a day ahead, but no it’s not Friday today. My phase of being in love with the UK82 bands is way in the past, and Sunderland’s Red Alert were never one of my faves although definitely a band that released stellar records through No Future Records. After their split up in ‘84 the band reformed in the late ‘80s and started to record and tour again for many years to come. I am not sure whether ‘Long Night in Long Island’ ended up on a later record and which one, but it’s a great tune and that’s what matters most. Unfortunately Steve ‘Cast Iron’ Smith and Tony Van Frater are no longer with us, may they Rest in Peace. Have a great Thursday!

Yesterday coming home I got off one bus stop earlier than my usual as there is a pedestrian crossing close by where these orange lights flash for the drivers to stop without red and green lights being used. The first two cars totally ignored the rules and just sped through. Then the cars approaching from the other side stopped and I started to cross the street when a biker approached on my left side giving me a hard time and cursing that there is no red light. Well yes dumbass these lights don’t use red and green, doesn’t mean you don’t have to stop though. I told him to fuck off and he looked at me like I was from a different planet for daring to say something like that. The older I get the more I realize that most people are pompous assholes, and just ignorant and full of themselves without any regard for others. Happy Friday and be nice to others!

Carp is my favorite fish to eat for Christmas, but that’s some months away. That a band would call themselves the Carp is a little strange, but then again this trio hails from Cleveland and there must be something in the water there that has gifted the world some great music, especially punk rock out of Cleveland. So, in that sense I don’t think the Carp are hogging up space in the scene, quite the opposite. Happy Saturday Fish Militia!

Yesterday thirty-five years ago Motorhead released “Sacrifice”, another great record from the band’s modern day era. In 1995 Lemmy also celebrated his 50th birthday performing with Motorhead at LA’s Whiskey A Go Go club. ‘Over Your Shoulder’ is a track from Sacrifice and definitely a scorcher. Funny enough I just saw someone with a Motorhead shirt yesterday at the grocery store. Every time that happens, and it’s really not very often, I say to the person “Best band ever”. Happy Sunday!
