Every day at least one song - Week # 62 (March 30, 2026)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. Now in its second year I shall continue to post at least one song every day, old and new and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!

Mondays are tough, and the weekends just seem to go by faster each week. Well, let’s start the week off with Nolan Strong’s Detroit group the Diablos from the early ‘60s. Strong was born in Scottsboro/Alabama, but moved with his family as thousands of other Southerners to Detroit for a better life. He was fortunate that Fortune Records were wise enough to sign him, and the rest is history as they say. If you’re interested in Nolan’s band history, you can read much more here. Have a great day!

What a crappy day this has been with heavy rain all day pouring down the soaked streets of Buffalo and having had to stay longer at work for some overtime. Izori deliver the goods with their slightly metallic brand of hardcore punk, and that’s music to my ears. I don’t have much else to say except that I hope to get a break from rain tomorrow. Have a great night in a dirty world!

This morning when walking Olga the dog I came across a stuffed envelope on the ground. I thought I better bring it home instead of looking suspicious on the street. Once back inside I opened the envelope to find a hundred one thousand dollar bills stuffed in there. And with this I hope you won’t get fooled again! Happy April Fools day!

Pisse hail from Hoyerswerda, a city located in the former GDR, now part of a reunited Germany. In 1991 the city was all over the German news due to Neo Nazis targeting the homes of migrant workers from Africa, Asia and other parts of the world. I recall vividly sitting in front of the TV in Switzerland and shaking my head in disbelief. Such horrible events usually create a reaction and backlash and I would argue that Pisse were a result of that, a band that has a sarcastic yet realistic outlook at the world performed through modern day post-punk perfection. Happy Thursday!

Last night I went to the Beton Arme show here at Duende in Buffalo. Firstly the venue is quite far away from where we live in the North of the city so I had to spend quite a bit on cabs there and back. That wouldn’t have bothered me so much had the show been 100% great. Sadly the PA system pretty much failed last night and the vocals could barely be heard inside the small venue. The fact that Beton Arme still put on a fantastic show speaks for the band’s quality, which at this point is very high. The singer is a true showman as I’ve rarely seen someone put on such a show taking into account the technical difficulties. What I also loved about the show, was that during the sets original Ska was played, always a good choice. A good night was had, but I certainly need to see Beton Arme again with a working PA. Happy Friday to you all!

Welcome to the Easter weekend with a video that’s absolutely brand new and has just been uploaded to YouTube today. Stand Against Fear consist of old timers of the Southern Ontario punk rock scene across the border in Canada playing a high energy style brand of punk rock. As their band name suggests all of us should stand against fear and hatred every day, period. Enjoy, and have a great Saturday!

Happy Easter everyone, hope you catch an easter bunny or two. Abyecta are a new discovery of mine, and I like them a lot. They are currently on US tour for another week or so, and have also just released a new EP. Unfortunately their records seem all sold out everywhere right now, so one can only hope they will be repressed. If you like metal punk then this is the band for you, as the two ingredients are mixed together to perfection. Have a good one!
