Every day at least one song - Week # 60 (March 16, 2026)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. Now in its second year I shall continue to post at least one song every day, old and new and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!

Monday, March 16, 2026:

Good morning to you on yet another Monday. Let’s see if the Sleaford Mods can heighten the mood, which I doubt. This minimalist duo from the Midlands has been around for nearly two decades now, describing the mood of the working class in the UK probably much better than any news outlet. In today’s video they collaborated with Christopher Spencer aka Cold War Steve, a collage artist and satirist. It’s grim and great, and a happy Monday to you!

Tuesday, March 17, 2026:

This morning I had a job interview at my work, a pretty big deal towards the last step in my pursuit to be able to retire in about ten years from now. Let’s see what happens, but the last few days the date hovered over me like a thick cloud and now I am just glad it’s over with. On top of that the weather of course had to turn bad and since last nigh it has been brutally cold again with snow and ice having made a return. I almost forgot to post for today as I fell into a sleep coma in my recliner after dinner with my heated blanket keeping me warm and cozy. Fix my brain and go to bed, and with that I hope you all had a great St. Patrick’s Day.

Okay girls and boys, I know I am a day too late but I hope you had a good St. Patrick’s Day. When it comes to punk rock from the Republic of Ireland then it must be concluded that the picking is somewhat slim. Still, the Radiators from Space deserve a space in punk rock history as being the first Irish punk band. They hailed from Dublin and were certainly equal part a pub rock band, but never mind the details let the music speak for itself. I hope you have a great day!

Thursday, March 19, 2026:

I am generally speaking not a fan of what’s considered pop punk, but there are always exceptions to the rule and Gatuplan from Sweden are probably one of them. This is Inge Johansonn’s project, known from International Noise Conspiracy, Against Me! et al. It’s a nice mix of genres and influences resulting in an upbeat and poppy yet still punky track, equally radio friendly and street level. Happy Thursday!

The list of government lies is endless, I suppose that applies to anywhere you live. The list of government lies that cost innocent lives is also endless, just look at where we find ourselves at today with the war in the Middle East and the US/Israeli aggression. Anti-System formed in Bradford/UK in 1981 and “Government Lies” is off their first EP from 1983. I hope everybody has a great Friday!

Saturday, March 21, 2026:

It’s been a busy Saturday and I’m just about to eat a very late dinner, but before Saturday is even over let’s hear some amazing pre-punk from Detroit. New Yorkers and Londoners like to argue where and when punk rock started, but you might as well call Detroit being ground zero for various reasons. Let this song sink in and remind yourself that this was 1973, well before the term punk rock was used widely. Enjoy some raw, unfiltered, dark and uncompromising rock’n’roll the way it is supposed to be. And with that, have a great Saturday night!

Sunday, March 22, 2026:

About a week ago I received an e-mail asking me whether I could help out with any info relating to the obscure NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle) act Modulators from Kiel. Many years ago I received a catalogue about the Kein Kiel scene from the late ‘70s and early ‘80s to accompany an exhibition at the time and containing one photo of the group, which I suppose will make some people happy to see as I gladly forwarded it to the person having reached out to me. Turns out said person is also a member of a group that tries to identify lost songs that appear on the internet and need to be identified. Always great to hear from people with a passion for music. Happy Sunday!
