Every day at least one song - Week # 59 (March 09, 2026)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. Now in its second year I shall continue to post at least one song every day, old and new and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!

For any of us out there having grown up with hardcore punk in and from the ‘80s, Chaos UK mattered. The Bristol outfit always stood for a fierce and uncompromising sound and have influenced countless bands around the world. They were one of the early British bands having toured Japan, and Gabba himself was in contact with Sakevi of GISM and Lemmy of the Execute early on. Yesterday, Gabba (guitar) sadly passed away, may he Rest in Peace. One of my favorite ever tracks of theirs is from the ‘90s though, hence enjoy! Have a good day.

The Mo-Dettes were formed in ‘79 and were a multi-national all female post-punk outfit with Kate Korris on guitar having been born in the United States and Ramona Carlier on vocals originally from Switzerland. I bought their “The Story so far” LP decades ago and haven’t listened to it in a long time. I will need to dust it off one of these days as these ladies wrote some excellent pop infused post-punk songs. I hope you all had a wonderful day!

On this rainy and warm morning I wasn’t even able to properly walk Olga the dog as it’s been raining cats and dogs all morning. I hate mornings like this one as my rhythm is thrown upside down and that’s no good. Anyhow, enough of me old man complaining as the future of punk rock is in good hands me thinks, especially with bands like Upchuck springing up like mushrooms. These Atlanta/Georgia freaks will tour Europe later this spring/summer, so watch out you crazy Europeans. Have a good day!

What a weird day at work, but let me not get into that as I certainly don’t intend on taking up more of your time than you already do. Belgium rocked some serious bands in the late ‘70s and the Onion Dolls are a good example for that. The Flemish city of Aalst for instance is known for its annual carnival where people throw onions from the belfry of the old town hall. As a result of that a bunch of young guys that loved the New York Dolls back in the ‘70s therefore named themselves the Onion Dolls since they hailed from Aalst, where people are also referred to as “onions”. Have a great night!

Hey, welcome to another Friday the 13th, and welcome back to winter here in Buffalo as the temperatures have certainly dropped again where we had expected them to be. Infected hailed from suburban Zurich back in the ‘80s and were part of a burgeoning Crossover scene in Zurich with bands like Excruciation, Lunacy or Exxor. All those bands drew hardcore kids as well as Thrash Metal fans to their gigs, I was part of that crowd. Infected’s singer, Amos, was the only punk rocker in the band while the rest were clearly into Thrash Metal. They were a fun live band, and while it took a while for “Dark Century” to gain the cult status it holds today, the album certainly deserves it. And on top of that the lyrics dealt with issues such as media control, unlike Satan chasing half naked women. Happy Friday!

Very sad news have reached us Motorhead fans this morning with Phil Campbell’s passing. Phil joined Motorhead in 1984 on guitar alongside Wurzel. For a number of years Motorhead were a quartet until Wurzel left the band and Phil continued to be a part of Motorhead until the band ended in 2015. Sadly everyone in Motorhead in the video I am posting today has died, but let’s remember how powerful that particular line-up was at that point as records like Orgasmatron, 1916 et al will not just be loved by old fans like myself, but will continue to find a younger listenership around the world. And with that, have a safe and great day!

Montreal in the beautiful province of Quebec in Canada seems to be spitting out exciting bands in abundance. Le Securite play angular music influenced by early ‘80s post-punk acts, but it is especially the video that is really to my liking. Bingo is an international phenomenon and for all of you trying to win it big, good luck. Happy Sunday!
