Every day at least one song - Week # 56 (February 16, 2026)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. Now in its second year I shall continue to post at least one song every day, old and new and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!

Since it’s President Day in the US of A today all I ask myself is how much longer do we have to put up with our current President? I suppose I better think of music instead and speaking of that I was happy to discover Earth Tongue yesterday. This heavy psych-rock two-piece from Wellington in New Zealand has been around since 2016 gathering fans around the world. Albeit not very knowledgeable in said genre I dig these cats a lot, and I hope you do as well. Happy Monday!

Blah, it’s back to work after a long weekend, always a treat. Well, what do we have good music for if not for putting us in a better mood. Not that much is known about The Vertex except that they were from Sweden and were in existence between ‘78 and ‘82. During said time they managed to release two 45 RPM’s and a few cassettes. Their output has also been reissued on an LP a few years back. Great mod sound to wake me up this Tuesday morning, have a good one!

The other day I visited my favorite record store in town, Out There Records and as per usual Jerid and I would talk music. Before I pretty much got disinterested in hardcore at some point in the early ‘90s hardcore punk was everything I was interested in. With the introduction of emo and metal into hardcore I increasingly dug deeper into punk rock as well as garage punk and other genres predating punk. Ayucaba play hardcore punk the way it is meant to be; aggressive, straightforward and with emphasis on punk in hardcore. They released a full length last year and hail from Spain, a country with a rich history in punk rock. Later this year the band will embark on a lengthy European and UK tour so make sure you catch them in your city should they hit your town. Hopefully I will be able to grab a copy of their LP as to me it sounds like a record I’d dig a lot. Happy Wednesday!

My dad turns 78 years young today, and back in the day when I was a very young teenager he did have a tiny record collection to which he would listen to from time to time. I suppose it’s easy to see where my love for ‘50s rock’n’roll and later rockabilly stems from as those are the types of records my dad would have bought. He was not knowledgeable and I think for the most part just went for the better known artists like Buddy Holly in today’s post dedicated to him. My dad has been living in sunny Spain for twenty years now, retired and enjoying life to the fullest. Happy Birthday dad, and a great day to everybody!

Sluts were from Braunschweig, a city in Lower Saxony in Germany. They were around for a brief period between ‘80 and ‘82 and disbanded after their only release in form of a full length. In my opinion it’s one of the best German punk rock LP’s, period. Today’s song is about how people are dumbing down, mind you it’s from 1982 and over forty years later the dumbing down process has only gotten worse. Just look at who’s running the USA and you’ll see how much worse off we are. With that I hope you have a great day!

Tiikeri excite me, trust me. They are the new old school Finnish ‘77 punk superstars even though the world doesn’t know about them. These cats hail from Turku in the south-west of Suomi-Finland, right across the sea from Sweden. I suggest you all get off your asses and buy their records to make them rich. Finland has been ranked the happiest nation eight years in a row according to the World Happiness Report. Well, the music of bands like Tiikeri should definitely keep you happy, so keep it up Finland! Happy Saturday and keep on smiling!

Busy morning here with competing sport events on TV so let’s keep the last post for this week short and sweet. If there is one thing that you are guaranteed to never run out of if music is your passion, it is discovering artists and bands you have never heard of. If you are speaking German then please do yourself a favor and follow the excellent VG- YouTube channel as you will always find something you have never heard of which in my case last night was Rodion GA from Romania, yes you have heard right, Romania. Even during the deepest communist times and under the harsh regime of Ceausescu some excellent music was produced in Romania, and it is unfortunate that those recording have never seen the light until 2013 when the reissues started to come out. Should this have sparked your curiosity, here a link to an interview with Rodion Rosca, the man behind everything. Have a great Sunday!
