Every day at least one song - Week # 49 (December 29, 2025)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!

Monday, December 29, 2025:

I suppose the year of 2025 wants to go out with a blast as it’s an absolute nightmare out there today with the winds blowing at around 75 mph and extreme low visibility. I am not kidding you but when I was leaving work downtown Buffalo I got nearly blown away and I am certainly not the lightest of all humans. Yesterday I saw that California punk legends Fear have scheduled a Canadian tour for January 2026. And no, it doesn’t stretch along the Pacific Coast but focuses on the North East as well as the frigid middle of Canada and the city of Winnipeg. That’s a bold move as the temperatures in January can be absolutely punishing. Not sure how the tour is called but I’d suggest “No Fear of Arctic Cold”. Hope it goes well for them and with that I leave you with one of my all time faves by them. Happy Monday!

This morning I went to work only to find out when already there that we were closed due to inclement weather. I received a phone call at 8:30 when I had nearly reached work. Bloody hell, what a waste of time. But on to Bloody Belgium, an almost 800 pages thick tomb of a book about the early days and years of the punk rock explosion in Belgium. That definitely cheered me up, and I immediately ordered myself a copy. Well, with that I give you The Kids, probably the best known band when it comes to punk rock from Belgium. Personally I’ve been lucky enough to have seen them three times, but the best and unforgettable one was in a small venue near Stuttgart/Germany in the late ‘90s. Fantastique! Have a great one!

Well kids we’ve made it to the last day of 2025. I was going back and forth as to what song to post but in the end I settled on a ‘60s teen beat song from Connecticut by The Rogues. I can never get enough of ‘60s music, and in my opinion it’s probably the best decade for music. What do you think? Anyhow, politically speaking on a global stage this has been a horrendous year. Donald “The Orange” Trump has been in power for a year now, and it shows on a national as well as international level as things are unstable and in shambles. Let’s hope 2026 will be better, albeit I really don’t know where the upturn would come from. On a personal note 2025 has been all right as we added Olga the Dog to our household, and that definitely brightened things up. I hope you all have a healthy and happy 2026 and keep on rockin’ in the New Year!

Thursday, January 1, 2026:

Welcome to 2026 ladies and gentlemen. I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve while my wife and I kept it quiet but liquid in snowy and icy Buffalo/NY. Back to business now and let’s do it all over again. Wolfpack from Melbourne, Australia are not to be confused with the better known band by the same name from Sweden. These guys have apparently raised $75’000 for charity and play a mean, in your face and slightly metallic brand of hardcore punk that should win you over easily. Australia is producing so many great bands of all kinds of genres it’s just mind boggling. Enjoy the first day of the new year and be well!

Friday, January 2, 2026:

Well, it’s back to work today but at least it’s a Friday and I’ll try to get out earlier as well. What a great song by one of my favorite bands ever, AC/DC. The year this was filmed I turned thirteen years old, and since being nine years old I listened to AC/DC. Every year my parents would gift me their newest LP for my birthday or christmas, and listening to this era of the band brings back memories of my childhood. It’s nice to be in the known that forty-two years later I still carry the rock’n’roll bug, I guess it’s not something you shake off that easily. Happy Friday!

Saturday, January 3, 2026:

So, the new year is off to a great start politically speaking. Our dictator in power aka “The Orange Man” is just finishing up his press conference after having illegally kidnapped the Venezuelan president Maduro. Now, I am not suggesting that Mr. Maduro is a good person, nor the legitimate President of his country, but we all know what this is all about; oil, oil and more oil. Our dear dictator in power even mentioned oil on many occasions during this morning’s press conference, that’s how brazen this administration is. So, another strike by the christo-fascists in the name of democracy, peace through strength and prosperity and with that I give you Canadian legend Art Bergman in co-operation with the sadly deceased Wayne Kramer with a great track on the right side of history. Let today’s news sink in and have a great Saturday! (Head over to Youtube to watch!)

Sunday, January 4, 2026:

Well well, the first week of the new year is coming to an end and it’s been an interesting one on many fronts to say the least. Earlier this week I have posted Belgian and Australian content and with today’s post everything comes full circle. Electric Annie & The High Tension Wires are a punk’n’roll outfit from Belgium and with “Angels From Down Under” they are paying tribute to the countless great bands from OZ, old and new. And to add my two cents to that I couldn’t agree more as I always say that one could just collect music from Australia and still have a great record collection. With that, happy Aussie music day and enjoy your day!
