Every day at least one song - Week # 48 (December 22, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!

Hollis lies in the southeastern section of Queens, one of the five boroughs making up the City of New York. It is also home to Run DMC, one of the most famous New York hip hop groups and since Christmas is approaching fast I intend on posting christmas themed songs until we all get tired of it. And with that I hope you have a great Monday!

After a brief spell of warmer weather all the snow and ice we’ve had here for several weeks melted away a few days ago. This past night it snowed again a little bit, so maybe there won’t be a green Christmas after all thanks to the back door santa. Clarence Carter’s hit from 1968 made it big back then and has stood the test of time as well, hence enjoy folks! Happy Tuesday!

Christmas eve it is folks, an evening with traditions I actually cherish for various reasons. I grew up in an Eastern European household, hence Christmas eve was always celebrated and my parents would often rush home from work to prepare everything in order to eat fish at a reasonable time. My wife, who is not of Eastern European descent, but happily continues the tradition is cleaning the fish right now while I finally finished all the decorating. Good ole’ Lemmy would have turned 80 years old today, so me thinks it’s fitting I give you “Run Rudolph Run”, originally recorded by Chuck Berry. This version includes Lemmy, Billy Gibbons and Dave Grohl, enjoy! Have a relaxing and great Christmas eve!

Ho Ho Ho, merry Christmas and happy Holidays to you all. Since I feel generous today I am giving you two songs for once, wow I wonder how that will go over. Hey, want to know something very unpunk? I like Christmas, it is probably my favorite holiday. I think it’s got a lot to do with the fact that I have always had a nice Christmas growing up. My parents didn’t have much money, but they sure as hell always made sure we had plenty of nice food and some gifts. Plus in those days Christmas often meant lots of snow and playing street hockey and getting up to no good in general. I miss those days, hence one of the reasons I like Christmas to this day. Detroit ‘60s legend Bob Seger wrote the original version of “Sock it to me, Santa”, but you’ll get the much dirtier garage punk version from 1986 by the even more legendary Lazy Cowgirls. On top of that you get to enjoy the original version of “I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus”, performed in 1952 by 13-year old Jimmy Boyd. And with that, I hope you have a wonderful day filled with joy and laughter with your loved ones. Cheers!

The day after Christmas is referred to as Boxing Day in the United Kingdom, where it’s an official holiday. It was originally a day to offer gifts to the ones in need, but now it’s more just part of the whole Christmas holiday. In other parts of Europe, where I lived most of my life, it’s St. Stephen’s Day and the second day of Christmas. Of course here in the United States it’s business as usual and a normal day. My work place is open, but I took the day off as there is no way I am dragging my ass there on Friday to spend a few hours doing what exactly? Anyway, enjoy a UK Subs Christmas classic and have a great day, hopefully not at work!

I hope you've enjoyed six days of Christmas themed songs, but enough with that for now until next year. My good friend Alain in Switzerland sent me an e-mail praising Dead Pioneers from Colorado. I find the band more than compelling with their music being an interesting mix of genres built around a punk attitude with lyrics tackling social issues of all kinds. The band will be touring the UK and Europe in the spring of ‘26, so should I have awaken your interest get your ticket now. Happy Saturday!

Yesterday I watched a well done Documentary about Link Wray. Shame on me as to be honest it wasn’t all that much I knew about him until yesterday except that no matter what genre and band you are talking about he is often cited as a main influence. I think it’s also a great bridge to my post from yesterday of a musician with an indigenous background hence everything comes full circle. I hope everyone had a great holiday week and we have New Year’s coming up too. Happy Sunday!
