Every day at least one song - Week # 47 (December 15, 2025)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!

Well, it’s back to work after a week of hell at home with flu. Still not feeling as good as I should, but beats last week by miles. Peter ten Seldam of first generation Dutch punk act Panic unfortunately passed away yesterday as a result of a fall and the ensuing complications at the age of 81. Panic were a wild act and Peter often used a fire extinguisher to get the crowd going. They even played at New York’s CBGB on July 4 in 1978, making them the first Dutch punk band ever to play in the United States. I leave you with a great video/song of Panic, and hope you have a great Monday!

Welcome to Tuesday, the day that doesn’t mean anything except that it’s not a Monday. Hostages of Ayatollah were a German hardcore punk outfit from Velbert in the North-Rhine Westphalia area. They played the perfect mix of hardcore and punk rock in my opinion, fast but with tuneful hooks. I don’t have much else to say on this cold and icy Tuesday, and I hope you all have a great day!

So, today is rant day ladies and gentlemen. This morning walking Olga the dog I came across these two little kids waiting for the school bus at the street corner up the road from the house. Every time I walk Olga and these two kids are there, they don’t move an inch while being glued to their cell phones. This morning I had a hard time walking around the two of them and stepped accidentally on Olga’s foot which made her jump up in pain. I raised my voice at one of the kids by asking why she can’t move and whether she finds this funny. An hour after this scenario I was slightly behind in my morning schedule and ran for my bus to work. Of course the fucker ran ahead of schedule and left me stranded. I’m happy to say that at least my day didn’t get progressively worse as I had feared, but I still can’t help to think that I hate people more than ever before. Well, rant over and I hope your day went well!

It’s time for some NWOBHM me thinks. A certain Bruce Dickinson was singing for Samson before switching over to Iron Maiden and making it big. Still, Samson were a force on their own and were one of the forerunners of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The band started in 1977 and disbanded in 2002 after the death of Paul Samson, their band leader. I hope I won’t feel like a Hammerhead today, and with that I wish you a great day!

Yesterday afternoon I had some quiet time at my job and was able to listen to the 3 Chords Wonders Radio Show from Zurich/Switzerland, a show I started about twenty-five years ago while it has been kept well alive since 2007 by several friends of mine which I am eternally grateful for. A nice discovery from yesterday’s show are Scorpion vs. Tarantula, a punk’n’roll outfit from Phoenix/AZ, thanks for that Ava! A great Friday song that should get you in a weekend mood me thinks, enjoy and have a great one!

Saturday, December 20, 2025:

It’s Samstag (Saturday in German) and the last weekend before Christmas. There’ll be plenty of partying going on, and no doubt it will attract many idiots. In a way that’s what the song I am posting today by The Idiots from Germany implies, meaning that the many problems our society faces are forgotten and/or ignored in a manifestation of collective stupid behavior. I think it’s important to let off some steam, but at the same time be respectful and don’t act like a self-entitle moron, end of my mini-rant. Happy Samstag!

Sunday, December 21, 2025:

Okay, another week’s flown by like Satan speeding down the highway and we are just a few days away from Christmas, hence me thinks it’s time to start blasting some christmas tunes. One of my favorites is “Lonely Christmas” by our slightly overweight buddies from Indiana. I’ve only ever seen Sloppy Seconds live once, and that was back in the ‘90s in Switzerland when they were supporting the Dickies, what a grand night that was. With that, have a great Sunday and an even better holiday week!
