Every day at least one song - Week # 45 (December 01, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

It’s hard to believe that it’s Monday again after the holidays, but reality can be cruel at times and reality this morning means to get out in the cold and get back to work again. In other and more important news though this past weekend Paul Halford (aka Johnny Moped) turned 72 years young, congrats! In my opinion he is one of the true unsung heroes of the original first wave London punk rock scene, and I was lucky to see the band twice during my London years, and they were great both times. With their all time hit “Incendiary Device” in my head it might be easier to get the last month of the year started. Happy Monday!

Back in 1983 Vorwaerts from the Basel region in Switzerland recorded this great video to be broadcasted on Swiss TV. “TV Generation” is clearly a song about young people being hooked to the TV screen instead of being active and out and about. I lived in Switzerland at the time and was a youngster remembering having maybe twenty TV channels, which would include the ones from France, Italy, Austria and Germany which we did have back then. Fast forward to today and we have an AI Generation and things have gotten much worse over the decades. I’d happily go back to the days of just TV, just saying. Hope you all have a great day!

Let me just try creating some warmth through posting one of Prince Buster’s hits from the ‘60s as it’s cold outside and I thought I better post something that would generate some artificial heat. Not that I miss the summer in particular, but the fall was cut too short and traded in for winter way too early me thinks. Let me not complain too much and get moving here. Happy Wednesday!

I generally speaking like winter, it calms down a lot of things, especially the human species. But if we are in for this for the next four months, then I am already tired of it. Snow, ice and freezing temperatures albeit in theory it’s still the fall season. Oh well, nothing I can do about it except to provide you with a smasher of a song by The Melmacs from Leipzig in Deutschland. And should you live in Dresden or not far from there, do yourself a favor and go to the Heartbreak bar this Saturday to experience the excellent Und Dann Kam Punk podcast live with Melmacs front lady Bimmi as their guest. Ok, alles klar?! Tschuess!!

Refugiadas hail from Sao Paulo in Brazil and have toured in Europe in the not so distant past. I don’t really know that much more about these fierce ladies, except that their hearts are in the right place as their lyrics tackle a lot of issues many women face. Let’s hope for some vinyl output in the near future and with that I hope you all have a great Friday night!

I used to have the Clown Alley LP back in the ‘80s as it was one of those records that one could find frequently in a used records bin. Every record from that period has become more collectable and expensive, but to be honest I recall just two good songs off of said record having been released on Alchemy Records out of San Francisco, the same label that went on to release the first Melvins record and for a while was home to bands such as Poison Idea, RKL et al as well. Looking back Clown Alley must have influenced a lot of the ‘90s Metalcore bands in my opinion. Anyway, here one of the two good songs I recall, and with that I hope you have a great Saturday!

I was up early this Sunday morning as I have a lot to do today as we might get more snow, and I also need to fit in some relaxing. I am almost done with a “Music Documentaries” entry and Toronto will play a role in said entry, particularly the early ‘80s when Direct Action were around. They are one of the most mentioned bands when it comes to ‘80s hardcore punk from the biggest Canadian city and I have loved them for decades now. I hope you enjoy your Sunday, and have a great week ahead.
