Every day at least one song - Week # 44 (November 24, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

Anyone out there that likes Mondays? If so, please do me a favor and write in the comments as to why. Melusaaste were an all female hardcore punk band from Finland and released just one EP back in 2012. I wish there was more out there, and that their record would be still available, but the collector scum unit must have cleaned up the stock. At least it’s a short working week, and with that I wish you a very happy Monday!

I really need to pull out my New Zealand punk compilations some day soon as I imagine I’d find the Terrorways on them. A great early punk rock track which for obvious reasons could have come out of the UK as well, but didn’t. The charm of these early punk rock tunes never stops to amaze me, hence I hope you can have a little pogo session in your living room. I hope everyone had a nice Tuesday, mine wasn’t too bad.

Here we go, it’s the day before Thanksgiving and lots of work to be done. Before that though I head to work for a few hours, so let’s kick this day off with a rare NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle) song from the ex-GDR by Prinzz. Really not much is known about this Erfurt band, except that after they had disbanded they turned into a Heavy Metal act called Blitzz and had a brief career on Steamhammer Records after the fall of the Wall. DT 64 was a youth radio station in the ex-GDR playing regime friendly music that wasn’t deemed mainstream. And with that I hope everyone has a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here in the United States, I hope you all have a great one. But, what exactly are we giving thanks to? Hence I thought Iron Maiden’s “Run to the Hills” is a fitting song for today’s Turkey day to remind us that it was the white man that came over to this land and subsequently killed and conquered the land from East to West while not giving a shit about the Tribes. Not much has changed to this day with greed ingrained in our society and violence still a big part of our day to day lives. Well, if a country was built on violence it’s not surprising where we find ourselves today. Enough of the gloom and doom though, treat your family and friends with dignity, have a drink or two and don’t eat too much!

Yesterday my wife and I watched “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” as we do every Thanksgiving. It’s a classic, and we laugh every year. Wichita in Kansas is the first unwanted stop for the unlikely duo of actors Steve Martin and John Candy on their crusade to Chicago after the take off in New York City. What’s happening in Wichita? Well, back in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s the Embarrassment hailed from said city, and to come to think of it there is even a documentary about the band on Night Flight, maybe on youtube as well? Regardless, I would imagine as a result of the sheer boredom these guys must have endured they started a band, and the result was actually more than decent. Great Friday song me thinks, have a good one!

So, I had the pleasure to finally visit Toronto, Canada again for the first time since 2005 if memory serves me right. It was a short trip from Buffalo as it’s just over the border and the reason was to finally see Hard Skin from London. While the sausage Oi boys delivered the goods, the suprise of the night were Puffer from Montreal, just plain hard hitting UK82 meets Motorhead style hardcore punk at its very best, they really kicked ass in a damaging way. I hope they will play Buffalo some time soon as this sleepy city could use a good kick up its ass. And with that, enjoy Saturday night!

I suppose the month of November had to go out with a bang as it’s snowing out there and I will eventually have to move my ass to do some shoveling. If Fanny from Sacramento had started their band decades ago in the UK instead of California, trust me for obvious reasons they would have chosen a different name. Regardless of their name though they were in many ways trailblazers for other all female bands to come and that is what’s most important here. The sisters June and Jean, originally from the Philippines, were the initiators and Fanny went on to record several albums while also landing some mainstream success, such as with the song posted herein. Enjoy and have a great Sunday!
