Every day at least one song - Week # 46 (December 08, 2025)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!

Monday, December 08, 2025:

XTC hailed from Swindon, UK and were an interesting bunch as they didn’t really fit into any category of a genre, but with certainty had an impact on the post-punk sound and pop music in general. “Making Plans for Nigel” is one of their hits that landed them mainstream success while the lyrics deal with overbearing parents trying to ensure that their son Nigel lands a job with British Steel in order to be happy. Well, it’s Monday again, and for once I didn’t go back to work as I am not feeling too well. Wifey was sick all weekend so I must have picked up some of it as well. Happy Monday? I hope you have a good one!

Tuesday, December 09, 2025:

Yesterday I posted a new Music Documentaries entry, which includes a great new documentary about Virus X from Niagara Falls, NY. Today I am posting this little gem here from 1984 when the band performed a brilliant cover version of the Partisans hit “Police Story” out of a garage. Still feeling sick and at home and with that I hope you’re all having a great day!

I hate being sick and stuck at home, and as much as there are plenty of days I don’t like dragging my ass to work I certainly rather be there. Anyway, since I’ve been home I’ve had some time to listen to podcasts, especially catching up with “Und Dann Kam Punk” from Berlin, Germoney. Through one of the episodes I learned about Kenny Kenny Oh Oh as one ex-member was interviewed. They released an excellent LP back in 2017, and this is my favorite song off said album. Me thinks this fuckin’ rules, hope you like it as well. Happy Wednesday!

Thursday, December 11, 2025:

Turns out I have a very persistent form of flu and shall be home and bed riddden for the rest of this week. That gives me the opportunity to check out some podcasts or Youtube videos such as one of the latest installments of vg-, a great Youtube channel in German introducing me to Viv Akauldren, a band I have never heard of until yesterday. Viv Akauldren hailed from Detroit/MI and were around from ‘84 to ‘90 having released four albums while also having toured the US and Europe. Always great to learn about acts I have never heard of, and with that I hope you have a great day!

Friday, December 12, 2025:

Greetings from Flu land, aka Buffalo/NY. Still not feeling great, albeit somewhat better. This morning I read an interesting interview with Roy from the Isreali band Holocausts. Now, don’t be turned off by the band name, and take your time to read the above. I think it’s important to point out the many injustices in this world through music, and Holocausts do just that. Let that sink in, and I hope you have a great Friday!
