Every day at least one song - Week # 42 (November 10, 2025)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

Monday, November 10, 2025:

Well, since here in Buffalo we’ve had the first snowfall already I don’t see anything wrong with posting a song containing snow. I know some people will feel triggered, and some might even fall into deep depression, but the reality is that winter is around the corner. SPS from the former Czechoslovakia and now the Czech Republic are still going strong today, albeit the song I am posting is an oldie but goldie from their excellent first LP from 1992. I myself was born in Bratislava in Slovakia and the neighborhood I spent my early childhood in looks exactly like the one in the video, very grimm indeed. I hope Monday treats you well, have a good one!

Tuesday, November 11, 2025:

On this Tuesday and Veteran’s day we are reminded to remember the fallen soldiers that went to war and have come back in a coffin. While I am not here to criticize their commitment, nor their decision, my aim is to remember everyone that has fallen victim in a war, and that especially includes all the people dying in senseless wars and conflicts that were or are exacerbated by the never ending greed of the American Military Complex and our Government. Kraut hailed from Astoria in Queens/NYC and are one of my favorite early hardcore punk acts from the Big Apple. The “Kill for Cash” EP was released in ‘81 and the song starts off with the line ‘Let’s go back to Vietnam and start another war’, which could now be exchanged to ‘Let’s go back to Iraq and start another war’ and so on. It doesn’t matter whether the administration is Republican or Democratic, the military always has the biggest budget to invade other countries we have no place to be in. Since Kill for Reagan it has turned into Kill for Bush Sr, Kill for Clinton, Kill for Bush Jr, Kill for Obama, Kill for Trump, Kill for Biden and again Kill for Trump. America claims that it boasts the best Democracy in the world while its hunger for world domination never ends. On this day I shall remember the thousands and thousands of innocent women, children and men that have died as a result of America’s greed.

Well, after a day off it’s back to work, back to rain after snow fall and back to posting a smasher of a song from way back. The Free hailed from Detroit/MI and from the looks released just this one single. One of the two main guys in the band, Joe Memmer, remained active in the music scene for decades to come and also passed through the ranks of the Amboy Dukes and Ted Nugent as one of the many lead singers. Not much else to say this morning, except that I dig this ‘60s number a lot, and I hope you do as well. Have a great day!

Thursday, November 13, 2025:

Hey ho, it’s Thursday and we are nearing the weekend again. Let’s go with some good ole’ Suomi punk rock by 013, a relatively unknown band from Pukkila founded in 1979. They released just one LP in ‘83 and by then their melodic punk rock was totally out of vogue. Regardless, I think they have found many fans around the world over the decades as the LP has been reissued several times, including a recent one through Puke’n’Vomit here in the US. Happy Thursday!

It’s a big shame that Beton Arme from la belle province of Quebec in Canaduh are not making a stop in Buffalo during their current tour of the US, I would have loved seeing them. The current crop of Oi Punk bands is for the most part excellent, and Beton Arme are no exception there hence make sure to catch them live wherever you can. Oh, and I nearly forgot that it’s Friday, about time me thinks. Coffee, oatmeal and have a good one!

Saturday, November 15, 2025:

Today is the premiere of the much anticipated Anti Cimex documentary movie, apparently in the making for about ten years. For now it’s shown in Sweden only, but hopefully it will branch out into the world soon. To my surprise Anti Cimex were also inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame this week, along some dance group I have never heard of. The Swedes seem to appreciate the achievements of their people, much different from here or so many other places. Here a blast from the past from their ‘93 album, which has a distinctive Motorhead vibe. Happy Saturday!

Buffalo Soldier is a song about black resistance, but at the same time it could very well be argued that the song sends the wrong message as the buffalo soldiers were responsible for the starvation of indigenous people. I find the story of the song quite fascinating. I suppose the lesson learned here is that we should strive to learn from history and do better, which is certainly not happening in current times. And yes, I nearly forgot to mention that it’s an amazing song, first recorded in ‘78, but not available on record until ‘83. And with that I hope everyone has a great Sunday!
