Every day at least one song - Week # 39 (October 20, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

Well, the weekend has passed again way too fast and Monday it is again. This past Saturday hundreds of thousands of dissatisfied citizens took to the streets across America to show their disapproval of the Orange Man in the White House who would much rather be a king than just a sitting president. It’s time to post a song of one of the most politically outspoken bands of the early hardcore punk rock, the Dicks. Their lyrics resonate unfortunately to this day, something I imagine the band members certainly did not want to be the case forty-five years ago when this song was released as the band’s first single. Happy Monday!

Well, Tuesday is a day that’s hard to describe. It’s better than Monday, but in reality it sucks just as much. This morning I just simply had no time to post a song, but as the saying goes better late than never. In the late ‘80s I loved the Accused, they embodied everything I loved about hardcore punk and I managed to see them when they toured Europe for the release of their third album “Martha Splatterhead Maddest Stories…”. But let’s be honest, their stand out album will always be their first, and this song here must have been on every mix tape I made back then. Happy fuckin’ Tuesday!

The other day I created a Swiss Punk Rock list for a friend of mine who does a pirate radio show here in the city of Buffalo, and this is one of the songs I had picked. Mother’s Ruin were from Zurich and in the beginning they wrote some amazing songs, bordering somewhere between straight punk rock and new wave. Later on they turned poppier and lost the edge, but the “Godzilla” 12inch is surely a Swiss punk treasure. With that enjoy your day, and stay away from plastic!

Since the days are getting shorter, darker and wetter it seems ideal to post a song matching the current mood and with that I give you Boye from Novi Sad in ex-Yugoslavia, now Serbia. It just goes to show you that under Tito the music scene in ex-Yugoslavia was not only thriving, but must have been just as thrilling as in the so called Western World. Should you be interested in finding out more about punk and new wave under the Tito regime, make sure you read my interview with Barry about his book covering the above. Happy Thursday!

Well, it’s Friday night and after I had difficulties getting out of bed this morning lacking time to post earlier on you deserve a proper riot. Cobra from Osaka, Japan released two raw UK Oi influenced EPs on AA Records in 1984 while their later releases adopted an increasingly more polished sound. Still, this song from the ‘Oi Oi Oi’ album released in ‘90 is an absolute smasher. Have a great Friday night, Oi!

It’s still dark out there and the mornings and nights are getting colder with each day passing. Wunderbach from Nanterre in France started out in ‘78 and disbanded in ‘84. In 2005 Wunderbach decided to get back together again, and since then the band has released several albums. This clip is taken from their latest one, having come out last year. While I don’t understand French well enough, my assumption is that the lyrics deal with the death of friends, as well as the continuation of life and music through younger generations. I hope I got it right, but more importantly enjoy a great track of Punk Francais the way we love it. Bon Samedi mes amis!
