Every day at least one song - Week # 37 (October 6, 2025)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

Welcome to Hell, also known as Monday. I realized that lately I haven’t been posting many new(ish) songs, something I will attempt to change this week. Let’s start the week off with the right foot firmly on the gas pedal with a new discovery from the land of tulips, the Netherlands. Robber hail from Groningen and have just released a 2-Track Demo on bandcamp and Youtube. Since it’s Monday I am going to be generous and post both tracks. Just kidding, I have to post both, but I’m sure you won’t mind. Robber play modern day Oi mixed with a good dose of Rock’N’Roll and hardcore punk, similar to bands like Rixe for instance. With that, have a good start to the week!

On this grey and rainy Tuesday I would like to remind everybody out there that the little central European country of Switzerland hasn’t just gifted you Krokus, Celtic Frost or DJ Bobo when it comes to musical exports. In recent years and decades, garage rock bands like the Jackets have made a name for themselves and have been touring worldwide as well. The Jackets have been around since 2008 and are constantly playing and releasing records, hence put your dancing shoes on and check them out if you get a chance as you won’t be disappointed. Happy Tuesday!

I received Brausepöter’s newest single “Treffen im November” just a bit over an hour ago in my e-mail box and boom, you too can listen to it now as well. The band from the North Rhine Westphalia region in Germany has actually been around for decades, dating all the way back to the late ‘70s. From the little bit of research I’ve done this morning John Peel was a fan of theirs, and that’s usually a good sign. The lyrics for this newest single deal with the modern day problem of people being hooked to their electronic devices instead of meeting up in person. Couldn’t agree more with that. With it being Wednesday make that a lunch date folks, and have a good one!

Well, first and foremost cheers to Fabrizio of Christine Plays Viola from Italy for reaching out to me. Originally the plan was to post the band’s newest video but due to a copyright restriction I wasn’t able to embed it on my website. No biggie, this way you get two songs as I found a cool more guitar driven song from a year ago to post here. The band is currently finishing up work for the new album which should be out at the end of this year, and will be already their fifth. I suggest if darkwave, post-punk and the likes is your thing you better check out these guys. Hope everyone had a great day!

All right, it’s Friday evening and a long weekend is ahead of us, I can’t wait to be off on Monday and wish I could work four days a week permanently, it’d make such a big difference. Anyway, geographically we’ll just stay in Italy but switch the genre to some good old Torino ‘80s hardcore punk. Bed Boys released just one EP back in 1985, and it is worth tracking down a copy as it was also reissued on No Plan back in 2016. With that, hope everyone has a great Friday night!

Back in 1986 when the Quakes started out here in Buffalo, NY there was no emerging Psychobilly scene in the United States. It may sound weird that the first, or at least one of the very first Psychobilly acts hailed from much of a cultural wasteland, also known as Buffalo. The Quakes did end up sticking to their guns as they are still going strong to this day and just embarked on a European tour, which has started yesterday. The song posted here is from their second album “Voice of America” originally released in 1990, and just recently reissued on the band’s own label, Orrexx Records. Looks to me that Paul Roman has been the only remaining original member now, and the band no longer calls Buffalo home, but it’s nice to see that this city was so crucial to the development of an underground subgenre. Happy Saturday!

Sunday, October 12, 2025:

I am currently finishing up “Dreamworld”, a book about Daniel Treacy and his band the Television Personalities. It’s a decent read, but to be fair I think the translation and the constant “in third person” language wears off after a while and makes it a somewhat laboured reading. Still, doesn’t change anything about the musical legacy of TV Personalities, of which there is an abundance out there. So far I have only gotten one album, but probably worth looking into getting some other ones. For today you get one of the early ‘80s hits with ‘David Hockney’s Diaries’, a movie Treacy was obsessed with I believe. Happy Sunday!
