Every day at least one song - Week # 35 (September 22, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

Well well, it’s Monday again. It’s rained a bit last night, but not as much as I had hoped to. Still, more to come this week, which is good. I never liked chewing gum much, but I suppose back in 1962 it must have been a big thing as everybody was liking it. I don’t know anything about Danny Brown, and was only able to learn that Earth Records, which released this song back in said year was operated out of Newark, NJ. Regardless, it will get you and I going on this dreary Monday, have a good one!

It’s Tuesday and I am tired and really struggling to come up with something to say, let alone to post. I was pretty sure I had posted a Drunk Mums song before, but apparently the computer says “no”. Well, in that case it’s about time as the Mums are yet another exciting band from Australia. They hail from Melbourne, and have released quite a few records by now. Check em’ out and have a great day!

Yesterday morning on a sunny day I am waiting at my bus stop for my bus to work while the traffic heading the other way slows down a bit and this motherfucker in a pick up truck gives me a smug face across the street. I love pricks like this one getting a hard-on for sitting in a car while thinking they are so much better than you taking the bus. To all those mofos out there driving cars and thinking they own the world, here’s a song for you. Happy Wednesday!

It actually finally rained a fair amount in the last hour or so, an absolute rarity since the month of May. The days are getting shorter also, and as a result of that the whole atmosphere and ambiance is getting darker. With that it’s also time to post some darker sounds, and No More’s “Suicide Commando” is an absolute classic. The band hailed from Kiel in Northern Germany and released this song in 1981. It wasn’t until the ‘90s when it was discovered in the Techno and Electro scenes when it was remixed by DJ Hell and Echopark. No More were still releasing records until a few years ago, hence it’s possible they are still going strong. Have a great night everyone!

It’s Friday past ten o’clock in the evening and I still haven’t posted a song for today. Well, shame on me, as the original plan for tonight was to go to see the Bellrays play in Buffalo, but I’ve been so tired that I simply didn’t feel like going anywhere near a music venue. Anyhow, for the five people in the universe out there “waiting” on my post, sorry for the delay. Dead People hail from Barcelona in sunny Spain and play pissed off modern day hardcore punk, perfect for a Friday night me thinks. With that, have a great one!

Got up quite early on this gorgeous and sunny early Fall morning, hence I might as well post a song to get you into the right mood. When it comes to garage rock from the golden age of the ‘60s then the years ‘66 and ‘67 stand out as it seems that just about every song could or should have been a hit on the radio. That certainly applies to the Continentals’ hit from their second single released in 1967. The band hailed from Abilene, Texas and I imagine that they weren’t alone at representing their town at the time. Happy Saturday!

All right ladies and gentlemen, we’ve reached the last Sunday in September and it’s time to blast some long forgotten UK punk rock. The Prefects were from Birmingham and have gained notoriety mainly due to the fact that their records were released after the band had split up. Now there are collections of their recorded output available, but during their active period unfortunately no record had come out. It’s a shame as this song alone should be proof that they deserved more attention from record labels during their prime. I probably should mention that The Prefects’ final line-up transformed into the much better known The Nightingales, a band that released many a record throughout their career. Well, I always say it’s never too late, so go out there and learn more about these lads! Happy Sunday!
