Every day at least one song - Week # 33 (September 8, 2025)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

September 8, 2025:

Let’s start this week off with a banger, and it can’t get any better than Motorhead. The 1991 album “1916” was a strong effort by Lemmy and Co. and featured Philthy Animal Taylor on drums for the last time. What can I say, they were the best band ever in my opinion, and it’s a shame that only Phil Campbell is still with us from said year’s line-up. May the other three raise hell wherever they are, and with that have a great day!

Today the Tee Vee Repairman US tour started and quite frankly until yesterday I have never even heard of these Australians. On top of that the band will play Buffalo next week Monday, and even though Monday is by far the worst day of the week for a show I’ll do my best to drag my ass out to see them. Well, otherwise it’s been a tough day at work and I didn’t even get the chance to post this morning. With that, hope you all had a great day, and enjoy the night!

A long time ago TV shows used to be more adventurous and experimental, especially in places like Brazil. Funnily enough Gordo, the singer in legendary hardcore punk act Ratos De Porao, became a TV host himself at one point and has apparently now a Youtube channel where he hosts a talk show and cooks vegan food. Ratos De Porao started out as early as ‘81 and were one of the most important exports of raw hardcore punk from Brazil. Later in the ‘80s they transitioned into an internationally well known crossover/thrash metal band and eventually returned to their roots. This is one of my most loved videos on Youtube, period. Happy Wednesday!

I am dead tired this morning, and just wasn’t sure what song to post until I had found a live version of one of the best UK82 singles “Dead Hero” by The Samples from Worcester, UK. They reformed in 2019 while in 2021 singer Sean Taylor sadly passed away. Since then the original guitarist and bass player have soldiered on with a younger drummer in the line-up. The single had originally been released on No Future Records back in ‘82 and is a classic. Happy Thursday!

Friday, September 12, 2025:

Glad to have made it to another Friday, I am tired and need a little rest. If anything, this week has divided Americans even more with the killing of this hate monger, sorry I forgot the person’s name. Let me be perfectly clear, nobody deserves to be executed while speaking at a University campus. The aftermath of this sad event has been equally disastrous with the media and people in general looking for reasons and answers with the perpetrator still at large. As a society we are drifting farther and farther apart with fewer and fewer people willing to listen to one another and to debate matters. Without wanting to be a preacher, take a step back, take a deep breath and look around you and don’t see people for what useless political party they support, but for who they are, human beings. Happy Friday!

Even though on average Australians drink less beer than they used to they still love a beer, drinking the equivalent of just over 2.5 billion pints of domestically produced and retailed beer in 2020-21 with a total retail value of around $17 billion. But, no worries Australia, as Ross Knight and the Cosmic Psychos will ensure that the beer will keep flowing, with the new single from the upcoming album making a strong point about that. And since it’s Saturday today, no matter where in the world you are make sure you pop open a beer and rock out to a good tune. Cheers people, and have a great day!

Sunday, September 14, 2025:

This week started off with Motorhead, so it’s only fitting that it ends with Girlschool as the two bands enjoyed many years of collaboration in the early years of their existence. Girlschool are the longest-running all female rock band in existence and their early material is full of punk influenced NWOBHM crackers. The video I am posting originally featured in a German movie called “Girls bite back” and shows Girlschool in their rehearsal space, simply fantastic footage. Happy Sunday!
