Every day at least one song - Week # 32 (September 1, 2025)

When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

Happy Labor Day to everyone here in the United States. While the mainstream media will want to sell you today as the last “unofficial” day of the summer, or the day before the kids return to school, or just generally speaking another day Americans should consume until their asses bleed, let’s remind ourselves that the labor day tradition goes back to the 19th century when labor activists pushed for a holiday to celebrate the many achievements and contributions of American workers. In 2025 and for the past decades politicians on both sides of the aisle have been busy to erode many of the rights unions have fought hard for. So, let’s not forget what this day really stands for and Woodie Guthrie’s “Union Burying Ground” strikes me as the perfect song for today. Have a good one!

Last evening all of a sudden I experienced excruciating pain in my lower back and could hardly move. I took some pain killers and muscle relaxers my wife kept and I feel somewhat better this morning, albeit running late for work. The wait for the month of September is over, the air feels cooler and crisper, the grass is starting to look much greener again and the list could just go on. I am happy the fall season is approaching slowly but surely as I won’t miss the hot and humid days. Peter and the Test Tube Babies’ song (Part 1 plus 2) is the perfect soundtrack for today and for this month in general, and is off of the band’s best LP “The Mating Sounds of South American Frogs”. With that, have a great day!

Let’s just say today is noisy wednesday, because a hardcore punk track has been long overdue. Confuse from Japan deliver a brutal attack on your eardrums, as they must have been huge fans of Disorder and just took it to a whole new level. Make sure you yourself are not a nuclear poisoning today, or any day for that matter. Happy Wednesday!

Personally it’s a little beyond me why Amyl and the Sniffers are so hugely popular as I don’t think they are that great. I know lots of people would give me stick for my comment, but I can think of much better bands that play that brand of punk’n’roll. But at the same time I am very happy for them to be successful and to travel the world, it can’t be easy to be on a major label and to be under certain pressure. The one thing that must be said is that the band attracts lots of young people to their shows, and that’s great as it will hopefully infect some of them with more underground bands. If Amyl thinks she ain’t a loser then so be it, this guy certainly is one! Happy Thursday!
