Every day at least one song - Week # 27 (July 28, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

What a drag of a day it was yesterday, all I can say is I was tired and couldn’t wait to get out of work and relatively early to bed. That’s what staying up late all weekend does to you when you’re at a let’s just say advanced age. Still, definitely worth it. Not much else to say for a Monday, except that I was glad to see my wife and Olga the dog again. Definitely tired of waking up tired…

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I am up to speed with this daily scenario. After an uneventful and brutally hot day I get home from work to await some dude from some funny sounding company hired by our home insurance company to do some survey. The young gentleman arrives at 6PM and after letting him in I politely ask him to take his shoes off. He proceeds to tell me that it is company policy to not to do so since he doesn’t know what’s on the floors. After asking him one more time to take his shoes off and getting the same answer I politely asked him to leave. He can stuff his policy you know where…

Forty years ago in the summer of ‘85 Baltimora’s “Tarzan Boy” was a huge hit in Switzerland, where I lived at the time. Said Italo Disco smasher is an interesting one, now that I looked a bit into its history, which you can read up here. From what I can remember I didn’t mind the song at the time, albeit it must have been getting on my nerves hearing it every day. These days I enjoy it and blast it every summer as it brings back memories of the summer of 1985 and being fifteen years old. Long time ago, and with that Happy Wednesday!

On this very last day of July we are finally getting some rain, I can’t even remember when it rained properly the last time, that’s how dry and hot it’s been. I welcome this change and the cooling off with a rare track by Serbian Goth band Trivalia, an interesting Youtube find. They started out in ‘86 and were one of the first bands in ex-Yugoslavia to play this style, obviously influenced by bands like Sisters of Mercy et al. I like it a lot, and with that Happy Thursday!

I wish all my friends back in Switzerland a Happy August 1, or schoene erschte Auguscht! Funny enough it’s been eighteen years almost to the day since I left there. Just like here in the United States people gather and act patriotic and silly, not something I endorse but that’s the same around the globe I suppose. I rather give you Crazy from the beautiful city of Lucerne, in my opinion one of the best early Swiss punk acts. Back in the day it was said that the rather trendy Zurich punks viewed them as farmer boys, but these so called farmers could play and released an outstanding LP as well as a fantastic 12” EP. The LP has been reissued here in the US, so grab a copy! Happy Friday!

The nights have cooled off drastically for now, so it’s nice to sit in a cool house without having to run the AC at all times. I was happy to find a copy of the Ejaculators EP at My Mind’s Eye in Cleveland last weekend, in my opinion one of the best recent punk rock releases, period. These crazies hail from Chicago and play synth punk the way this desperate housepunk loves it, melodic yet still pissed off and kicking ass. Stay cool, and Happy Saturday!

Well, I don’t think it shall come as a surprise that it’s another sunny and cloudless day here in Buffalo, NY. While many years ago people were dreaming of these kind of summers, thanks to global warming they have become reality. I miss the rain and clouds a lot, and can’t stand the dryness and warm temperatures at all times. Back in the golden age of music, the ‘60s, things were different and yesterday I watched a short video of French fuzz and garage hits from said decade. One of the songs that stood out for me is the one I am posting today by Stone from 1966, what a hit that is. Annie Gautrat aka Stone is best known for the various collaborations with her then-husband Eric Charden in the early ‘70s, but this is much better. Happy Sunday!
