Every day at least one song - Week # 15 (May 5, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!
Monday, May 5, 2025:
Alright Monday it is again, very unfortunate that is. Nothing we can do about it, so let’s just focus on some good and mellow music to start the week off on the right foot. Learnt about this one from the YouTube channel I have mentioned in one of my previous posts as well. Here some brilliant and dreamy C-86 indie pop with a healthy dose of psych the way I can appreciate it with Hangman’s Beatiful Daughter from England, produced by Dan Treacy of Television Personalities fame. Enjoy, and happy Monday!

For a while now there seems to be an endless stream of great new bands popping up frequently, the Slads from Philadelphia, PA are a perfect example for instance. I only found out about them due to the fact that they will be playing in Buffalo with locals Violent Way and the Templars in June, hence I checked them out and dig them a lot. They have one full length out so far, that’s about all I know. Happy Tuesday!

It’s already May and the spring season seems to have finally arrived in Buffalo as well. We tend to go from cold to cold light and straight to hot weather here and bypassing spring pretty much. Well, with that it’s time for some real noise again me thinks. SM-70 hailed from Berlin and released a bunch of EPs in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. The two songs posted herein are from the ‘89 released “Krank” EP, a noisecore classic. With that, stay loud and stay sick!

Television used to be better, like everything else in life. Just kidding, but here some proof that TV programmers, at least in Switzerland where I used to live, had some real balls some forty years ago by inviting German Thrashers Destruction to the studio to get some real headbangin’ going. I recall the TV show, but I am not sure whether at the time I did see this footage as I did dig Thrash Metal a lot in those days. By the way, Destruction are still going strong to this day, happy Thursday!

Well, thank God it’s Friday again as this week I’ve just been getting more and more tired while allergy season is kicking in as well. Since it’s a cool but really nice day out I am giving you an uplifting jangly modern day post punk song by the Sprouts from Australia. Great stuff in my opinion, unfortunately releases are so far only on cassette and I am not hip enough to buy into that again. Have a great day!

Today’s song fits the day perfectly as I spent well over two hours mowing the back and front lawns of our house. The problem is that due to the wet and cool spring I was not able to do it until now with the grass being several inches high. Believe me, that first cut of the year is always extra ton of fun. So, in the search for a lawn mower song I came across Wink Burcham and immediately loved the man’s blues. Hope everyone has a great Saturday, and don’t work too hard!

First and foremost I wish all the mothers a happy mother’s day here in the United States, maybe there are even some out there reading this. On a more sad note today’s post is dedicated to the memory of Carl Jahier, lead singer of French Punk legends Komintern Sect. It’s no secret that Carl was seriously ill so his death didn’t come as a surprise, but it is still incredibly sad as the band had gained so much popularity since returning to the stages back in 2014. For that reason I decided to post one of the “newer” songs the band recorded, this one while in Colombia. It’s great to see how many young bands in recent years have been influenced by the early French Oi Punk sound, and certainly not just in France. Rest In Peace Carl, bon voyage! Have a great Sunday!
