Every day at least one song - Week # 21 (June 16, 2025)
When I started Barstool Revolution I created a Facebook site and generated a daily thread where I would post at least one song a day. With social media sites increasingly useless for self-promotion to generate traffic to sites like this one - unless you are willing to shell out money - I decided to continue the “tradition” right here to add content and to hopefully generate more traffic to the site. As suggested, every day you will get at least one song, old or new that is, and of any genre. Stay tuned and check in daily!!!

Bah, freakin’ Monday again. Well, it’s a short working week for me so it could be worse. Canada’s largest city Toronto had a vibrant and happening punk rock scene back in ‘77, and the Viletones were at the forefront of it all. Steven Leckie aka Nazi Dog was their charismatic singer and the band was known for its wild and unpredictable performances. This past weekend Steven has passed away, and with that I give you their ultimate anthem “Screaming Fist”, a killer of a song. Happy Monday and RIP Steven.

With temperatures steadily on the rise summer has arrived rather fast in the city of Buffalo, NY. After a miserable and wet and pretty much non-existent spring it feels good, but it won’t take me long feeling exhausted from the hot weather. Anyway, let me not complain about the weather here but instead give you a fitting classic by the Undertones from Derry in Northern Ireland, a band that is still going strong to this day. Have a sunny Tuesday!

Today was a hectic day, and it’s nearly 11PM here and I nearly forgot to post today’s song. Not that it matters for the five people that check in here daily, but it matters to me. Yesterday I listened to a podcast with Micky Matchkopf who was on guitar on the first Der KFC LP, without a doubt one of the most important punk rock records from Deutschland. So, without hesitating much I thought it’d be fitting to post a song off of said classic for the folks out there not familiar with the LP. Gute Nacht!

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, an important holiday that quite frankly doesn’t get mentioned enough. I am currently reading “Deep Blues”, an excellent book about the Mississippi Delta Blues and its origins and eventual rise on the Chicago’s Southside, and Muddy Waters plays an integral role throughout the book, hence here you go with an early Muddy classic. Have a great day!

You all must know the feeling of waiting, and if a company tells you they’ll arrive between 8 and 10AM, then most likely they’ll arrive at 09:59. Anyway, in waiting mood I am and with that it’s good to blast some pissed off Cleveland punk by the MK Ultras. Just the other day I learned about the upcoming Big Neck Festival in Buffalo in August, sporting a really great line-up over two days, including these guys. Happy Friday!

A nice and hot Saturday is awaiting us and while I was home yesterday with some ancient windows being replaced I worked on a Music Documentaries entry. Thrash Altenessen is a great documentary about Kreator in ‘89, so I thought I post this brilliant live footage of my favorite song by them. With that, don’t hate but enjoy your Saturday!

Didn’t I tell you in an earlier post from this week that I’ll grow tired of the hot weather rather quickly. Well, we haven’t even reached July and I already feel that way. A mini heat wave is on the way here in Buffalo as well, so time to blast some Soul music. ‘Little Carl’ Carlton was born in Detroit, Michigan, and with “Competition ain’t nothing” he landed a big hit in the UK on the Northern Soul scene. Well, it is a timeless banger in my opinion and with that I hope you all have a great Sunday!
